Homemade Good For You Gummies


We made some healthy gummies for the boys today. They absolutely loved them.  We feel great about them eating it. These are a great way to get extra protein in (that is extremely healthy) with tons of amino acids! Gelatin has numerous health benefits.  We typically feed them 4 after dinner.  Follow the recipe below and it will make 24oz of gelatin.  Feel free to purchase gummie molds or use a long flat tray to make cubes or strips.
1 cup puréed blueberries (or any fruit)

1 cup spring water

2 tablespoons fresh lemon juice 

6  tablespoons honey

6 tablespoons unflavored gelatin


Stir together puréed blueberries, spring water, fresh lemon juice and honey in a saucepan over medium-low heat. While constantly stirring, gradually mix in gelatin.  Bring mixture to a simmer and remove from heat.  Using a syringe fill silicon mold and place in freezer for 20 minutes. Pop out gummies and store in the fridge in an airtight container for up to 3 weeks.  Adjust the recipe as needed.  Enjoy!  For adult gummies add vodka instead of spring water.
